Pāreu is back on and will stay on.

Today was my first day back to Hula after a break of one whole year! But before I even got there, I called Stupid Head because it was my first time driving myself there. I was honestly guessing where I was going but I have subconsciously remembered. Thank goodness I was talking to SH through out the whole car ride because I think I would be freaking out. I don’t remember myself driving, I just magically drove myself automatically as I am talking to him. The whole time we were talking, it was like exactly how we used to talk before we started going out or maybe even before we liked each other. We were talking about random nonsense and one thing led to another. There were no awkward silences and it was so difficult to stay on topic. I really don’t remember how things connected like how we go to the bathroom. Yeah it was pretty descriptive but I don’t want to gross you guys out. Mwahaha.

I finally reached to my destination but I was still talking to him. But I didn’t mind. After awhile of talking, I had to go inside to practice. I didn’t want to hang up because it was the first time we had a talk like this in awhile. I didn’t want it to end. Awws. But it’s okay. There’s more to come real soon. I headed inside the Halau and wow. Back to square one for me. Here at my roots, where my passion lives, where I grew up with the people lined up next to me. Since I have been dancing for over a decade now, I didn’t need to learn the two new dances steps by step like I have to with any type of dancing. When it comes to Polynesian dancing, it comes naturally to me and I just dance with grace and beauty. I don’t know. Being there again felt like home to me. I was so happy.

As for Stupid Head’s day, it wasn’t the best day for him at all. Let’s keep it to that shall we? But I’m glad that our one on one talk we shared together on the phone when I drove to and from Hula cheered him up. :)
